Is there multiple choice in HSC?
29 HSC examinations contain multiple choice sections. Consequently, some questions from previous tests or examinations may not be relevant for the current year. Also, there may be content examined in the current year that has not been examined in previous years.
How do you answer multiple choice questions on HSC?

- Read and understand the question.
- Try to answer the question in your head first without looking at the choices.
- Always read all the choices even if you think you are confident you know the right answer.
- If you’re not sure what the answer is, take your best educated guess.
Can you highlight in HSC?
Highlighters may be used to highlight text but NOT during reading time. Liquid paper is not allowed in the exam room. It wastes time and may smudge your work and make it unreadable. If you make a mistake, cross it out so the markers know not to mark it.
Can you use pencil in maths HSC?

How many questions are on the HSC?
There are 20 multiple choice questions, one mark each, and the recommended time allocation is 35 minutes. That said, I reckon you can do it in 30 – this’ll free up some planning time in the modules. That boils down to 1.5 minutes for each question, on average.

Can you redo HSC?
Yes you can redo a HSC subject, though you will only take the marks of your most recent attempt even if it is worse. You can also choose a new one provided you do so in combined format – which is what is usually offered at TAFE campuses anyway.
