Is there a way to open the trunk?

The only way I can open the trunk is to stand next to it and use the key then open it. It is a waist of time trying to use the one on the door, I can’t run fast enough to get there before it locks again. Very annoying. Wish I knew how to fix it too.

What should I do if my trunk latch is not working?

There is no permanent solution, I gather. Mine is yet again not working, after being fixed by the regional technical representative personally. My next step is to find out the correct size allen wrench that I need to adjust the rubber stoppers on the corners of the trunk lid myself when they go out of adjustment — which is often!

What’s the problem with the VW trunk lid?

Someone from VW of America came to look at it twice, and both times he believed that the problem had to do with the two rubber stoppers on either side of the bottom edge of the trunk lid. First he adjusted them, then he changed them, but now it’s worse than ever.

Is there a problem with the trunk latch on my VW EOS?

I have a 2008 Eos with about 25,000 miles. When the car was nearly out of warranty, the trunk latch began to malfunction. I would pull the switch in the door panel, then get out to open the trunk, and it wouldn’t open. I had to stand next to the trunk with the key remote in hand and press that button to open the trunk.
