Is there a problem with the Toyota Echo transmission?
I have a 2000 Toyota Echo with 80,000 miles and the dealership has just informed me that i will need a NEW transmission. At the 68,000 mile mark I noticed that the transmission slipped out of gear and going from stop to start it appeared to jump into gear. This is an automatic transmission and i was surprised to think that this was the problem.
