Heading to the shore this week, will see how high it goes. Just lowered the fan temp to 180*. Did not see much difference.
What did derale do to my Jeep fan?
Screwing the jeep sensor in broke the fan switch. A quick call to Derale customer support and they shipped out a new adapter on the same day with a special switch specific to my jeep. That kind of customer service alone is worth 5 stars!

Why do newer Jeeps have less fan failures?
The newer Jeeps are… newer, and as a result parts are failing a lot less often. I suspect that as they age and parts fail more, this knowledge will become a lot more common.
How does a hydraulic radiator fan work in a jeep?
This is actually the only time where in which the fan has an audible pitch. The fan has a solenoid that varies hydraulic pressure so to increase fan speed when necessary. As I previously stated, it is activated when the AC is operational, but also when the engine reaches various temperatures.
