Is there a bad TCM, BCM, or ECM?
I have access to an ECM, PCM, BCM and TCM from a 2007 Sierra that I can try swapping over modules to help troubleshoot the problem if they are compatible. I have replaced the battery and cable ends and left the battery disconnected for 30 minutes hoping the ECM might reset itself, but that would just be too inexpensive and easy. FAIL!!!

Apart from the symptoms above, you may also notice general instability (i.e., your car shakes upon acceleration) when you have code U0140. The code typically appears when diagnosing cars with engine misfires, water-logged sensors, and shorting of wires due to breakage.
What can cause a BCM module to fail?
Water, vibration, heat and age can all contribute to a module failing, which, depending on the placement of the unit in your vehicle, can be difficult to avoid. To keep your new BCM in the best shape possible, make sure it stays clean and dry, and protect it from unwanted shaking or excessive heat if at all possible.
