Is the Volvo S40 T5 a good car?
Stable and solid on the road, the S40 T5’s steering yields sharp, reasonably quick responses. Quiet and refined, the T5 is a spirited performer with its easy-action six-speed manual gearshift and courteous clutch. Except for appropriate engine sounds when accelerating, little noise is heard.

Used 2007 Volvo S40 Standard Features. Even in the base 2.4i trim, the S40 features air conditioning, anti-lock brakes (ABS), an engine immobilizer, traction control, rear fog lamps, keyless remote entry, heated power mirrors, a CD player and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel.
What kind of transmission does a Volvo S40 have?
If you can swing the extra cash, opt for the T5 – its turbocharged engine brings the little S40 to life. The T5’s six-speed manual is great fun for those who still enjoy shifting their own gears, but the five-speed Geartronic automatic won’t disappoint you, either.
Where does the Volvo S40 wagon come from?
Manufactured in Belgium, the S40 bears a close resemblance to other Volvo models. Up front, at least, it’s a virtual twin to the new V50 wagon. Even if required only occasionally, all-wheel drive enhances the Volvo’s feeling of security. Most of the time, you don’t even realize all-wheel drive is present.
The acceleration is decent in the 2.4i but great in the t5. The handling is fantastic in both. Reliability is outstanding. I have put 67,000 miles on it with no problems. I have only been to the shop for maintaining reasons. This car is much better than my previous 3 series in reliability, safety, and styling. Does recommend this car!!
Where was the 2006 Volvo S40 car made?
The S40 was built in the Netherlands at a plant shared by Volvo and Mitsubishi, and it was not a high point for either manufacturer. Is the 2008 Volvo S40 a good car?
Weve had our 2008 S40 for almost 10 years and we love it. Its a very reliable and comfortable car. Took it on a trip from Jersey to Cali, round trip, no problems whatsoever. Seats are the best in the segment. You can drive for 5-6 hours straight and not get tired. Suspension is comfortable, but it gives you a lot of confidence while driving.
What kind of horsepower does a Volvo S40 have?
The Volvo S40 is rather undeniable in its own quirky way. It isn’t particularly fast (at least not in the 2.4 configuration that I own) but it is very nimble and fun to drive. Keep the power band between 3000-5000rpm and the car has good torque with the 5 cylinder producing around 170hp.
