Is the temp gauge on my Car working?
As stated in the thread title, my dash backlighting, speedo, tacho, and temp gauge are not working. However all of the warning lights and high beam indicator light work. The problem has me stumped, I have searched and searched here but haven’t found an answer yet.
Is the Tacho, Speedo, and temp gauge working?
Still no tacho, temp gauge or back lighting though. 1) joining pink wire to black wire gives no result/no dash lights. On a side note, joining black to blue/black makes sparks ha ha! 2) alternator warning light (I assume this is the one that looks like a battery) and the oil pressure warning light are functioning.
Why is my odometer and speedometer not working?
The speedomerter, odometer & mileage guages are not working. Have not experienced any other symptoms. Brakes are operating properly, have not received any warning/service lights other than tires need rotating. Was told by a mechanic that it’s the ABS System Sensor and was given the quote for a used one for $500 plus. Can you advise on this?
Why is my Tacho not working on my GU1 zd30di?
It is in a 2000 GU1 ZD30Di I have converted to TD42. The most common causes I found (from the experience of others) seem to be as below- I have checked all these and found no fault. 1.
How do you wire a new speedometer gauge?
First off your new gauge will have a wire going from A on the gas gauge to A on the temperature gauge. Remove that. We will wire these gauges separately now. Second, go to Radio Shack or order resistors online.
Why does my CJ7 speedometer gauge keep pegging?
The resistors dropped the voltage down to about six volts for the gauges. When the gauges keep pegging all the way to the top its because their resistors are blown on the original ones. On the new gauges the problem is that THEY HAVE NO RESISTORS.

What does no resistance mean on a speedometer?
No resistance means a short. 12 volts straight to the body of the Jeep… not good. This short that not only blew the gauge fuse, but also fried our new fuel sending unit I had just installed. I opened the case of the new speedo, removed the fuel gauge, wrapped it in electrical tape, reinstalled it and now the short was gone.
