Note to other newbie DIY’ers: the same bulb controls both the tail light AND the brake light. It has 2 filaments, and one or the other may be burned out.

When the brake light is on, which filament (s) is on, 1 or both filaments…this part I don’t know until someone does an experiment. All 3 brake bulbs run on separate circuits, if one bulb is burned, the other 2 bulbs will be fine, i.e., not controlled by the failed bulb. One question: why Honda uses bulb 7443 with 2 filaments as you mentioned?
