Why does my sat nav Charger not work?
Although the little handle covering where the lighter should be says ’12 volts’, it doesn’t work and never has since I bought the car and tried to charge my very old sat nav. This bit has got me intrigued. My wife had a car where the cigar lighter socket wasn’t fitted, but covered with a blanking grommet.

Is it possible to get a longer battery life on a sat nav?
You probably can get longer battery life sat navs, although they will be expensive. My sat nav (Tom Tom) just uses a normal USB lead to charge, so possible some kind of mobile phone emergency charger would work, or possibly even just charge it off a laptop (although the screen might be distracting).
