You can always pull the crank sensor and measure the oil that comes out, as stated above….6oz is the benchmark for them to do something. My suggestion to anyone doing cam work or working in the camchest would be to consider doing the pump while in there.

Click to expand… There will be no recall, its not a safety issue. You can look at the left downtube of your frame, manufacture date is listed there. Mine was checked for sumping when it was in for the vent tube. Said they only got 2 oz. out. At 6 oz. they call it bad and change the oil pump.

Install the oil pump. Connect feeder and return lines. Fill the oil tank to correct level. Remove check valve cover screw with a flat head screwdriver. Remove the check valve O-ring and spring by hand. Remove the check valve ball with a mechanic’s magnet from inside the oil pump body.

The number cast into the late 19 pump is 62400240. You can see this number when you take the cam cover off. Look down under the lower part of the cam plate. Saw this a couple days ago. Good review of the different iterations of the HD pump as well as the contrasts with the Fueling and S&S pumps.
