They will check your purse or bag before you go in but, not an ID. If you mean free days then when you get the tickets online you will be ask if you are from Illinois/ Chicago before checkout online. When you get to the Shedd and they scan the tickets I doubt they would check an ID. over a year ago.

Exit at 1100 S. Columbus (pedestrian underpass). Follow the signs through the Museum Campus and walk approximately 10 minutes to Shedd Aquarium. Please view the J14 schedule for detailed information. Board the #146 bus at State and Van Buren towards Museum Campus. Exit at Shedd Aquarium.
