How does EcuTek license work?
An EcuTek tuning license is needed on each ECU that is flashed. You only need ONE for the car, once it is flashed the license stays in there. How does EcuTek tuning work?
Ecutek embeds the ECU license in the ECU on the first flash, then it checks for this licience before it will flash ECU. Tunes you purchase from an Ecutek tuner will in most cases be coded to your dongle ID. This means that only that dongle ID can flash that tune.

Can I buy a used EcuTek?
Buying used will be fine. As long as it is functional it will work fine during the tuning. The tuner will need your Calibration ID to order a license and then you’ll load the license to the black USB key that contains the flash points The flash points are used to unlock your ECU.
