When did the Sportster clutch issues found me?

I had some clutch adjustment issues recently, and have now found the problem. I did the typical stuff that is suggested on this site. I bought the service manual.
Why is my Clutch not working on my Harley Davidson?
So in review if the bike is creeping with the clutch lever against the grip, and neutral is hard to find, or first gear is hard to get at a stand still, then there is NOT enough preload on the pressure plate. If the clutch slips under brisk acceleration then there is TOO MUCH preload on the pressure plate.
When did the clutch issues on my Nightster start?
My bike is a 2008 Nightster and my issues started between 15,??? -16,200 miles on the Od. I took it to a smaller custom barely shop, to try and save some $$$. They said they would try the adjustments first and if nothing improved would look inside.

What causes disengagement on a Harley Davidson Sportster?
Disengagement problems are often caused by a maladjusted or binding clutch cable/linkage; although, sometimes the discs can get sticky or warped. Hold the clutch lever in and place the transmission in first gear with the bike at a standstill. There should be no engine power transferring to the rear wheel. Figure 1.
