Skidoo Clutch Adjustments? Have a mid 80’s Skidoo and the clutch has the 3 bolts which can be adjusted with settings 1-6 stamped on the clutch. Can someone please explain exactly how much one setting will change the engagement, and which number is for top end, which is for bottom end?

What should top rpm be on Skidoo sled?

IE, if you top out at 7800 in position #4, moving the adjusters to #5 would mean a top rpm of about 8000. A higher engagement likely won’t help you, but it is altered by changing the spring in your primary clutch. If you primarily use the sled to pull the ice hut, you may want to look into a gear change instead.

Cleaning your clutches is not very hard as long as you have a few tools for the job. On doos you need a puller for the primary and a set of clips to hold the buttons and a clutch spring compresser.
