The road is windy and narrow in places, and even has a few creek crossings (we easily did in a minivan) so the 8 miles takes a while. At the end is a large parking lot with a bathroom facility. A 5 minute hike takes you to the beginning of Fern Canyon, which is a 30 foot deep canyon with ferns growing on both sides.
