How does the AC work in a Chevy truck?
Recharged, cooled great for a while. On my way home, starting getting warm again, turned ac off for 10 mins, turned back on, cooled for 5-10 min then back to warm air. Compressor???? It’s not making any chattering sound or anything obvious.

Q: Air conditioner cuts out when accelerating or under pressure going up hill. I noticed today that whenever traveling and accelerating like going uphill for an extra length that my a/c will quit blowing and as soon as I level off or the need to accelerate levels off it will resume blowing. My car has 197000 miles.
Why does my air conditioner cut out when I accelerate?
Typically this occurs due to a bad vacuum check valve under the hood. During hard acceleration the AC door system loses vacuum, causing the doors to default to the windshield. This check valve keeps this from occurring. It is located under the passenger side of the hood.

When did my GMC Sierra air conditioner stop working?
I had a 2001 GMC Sierra that did this when truck was less the one year old (summer of 2001 is when it was). The dealer had the truck in the shop idling for a long time and the A/C worked perfectly. I told them to take it for a ride and see. So the service manager in an effort to convince me nothing was wrong went for a ride with me driving.
