How do you start a Jeep Wrangler with a screwdriver?
The Starter
- Open the hood of the jeep.
- Follow the positive (red) cable from the battery all the way to the starter.
- Look at the starter; you should see two poles sticking out of one side.
- Place the metal part of your screwdriver across the two poles so that you form an electrical connection.

What to do if your Jeep Wrangler battery won’t start?
The first starting point when diagnosing a dead battery is to verify your battery has the correct voltage. Incorrect or low power to the starter will not start your Jeep. Batteries use CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) to measure starting power.
Is the starter relay the same on a Jeep Wrangler?
The 5 relays in the box are all the same part number, I’ve swapped out the horn and the ASD relays with the starter relay and nothing changes. Horn still works with the other relay, etc. The control side of the starter relay is just never getting grounded, which is controlled by the PCM.
