How do you open the trunk of a Jeep Cherokee?
There is a latch on the inside of the trunk to the right side. You can pull that to open the trunk from the inside of a Jeep Cherokee. All cars now have child protection.
How to close the liftgate on a jeep?
Will try at the dealer tomorrow… SOOO if anyone has this problem arise, manually close the liftgate to about 6″ from the latch then close with medium force. That will at least close it so the interior lights do not stay on and the dash display telling you it is open.
Why is the tailgate not latching on my Jeep?
Went to close it and nothing…tried it from the overhead button, rear button and key fob. Nothing. So I “closed” it manually and it will not latch/secure the tailgate. Tried to put it in reverse, then drive, then park and open/close…and it just stays open! :slapfight: Thoughts?
Is it possible to shut a gate manually?
Yeah, the gate can also be operated manually and when closing manually it won’t electrically suck itself shut the rest of the way. You have to do all the work. If you notice it is about to raise into something you can stop it by grabbing it and it will try to close.
