How do you open the hood of a Hyundai?

- Pull the release lever to unlatch the hood.
- Go to the front of the vehicle, raise the hood slightly, pull the secondary latch (1) inside of the hood center and lift the hood (2).
- Pull out the support rod from the engine room.
How to fix a broken hood latch on a Hyundai?
Have someone push down on the while you pull on the cable. Perhaps if they move the hood up and down while you pull on the cable it will release. I can try it. Just curious, have you tried this or is it your imagination? I have done this on other cars where the hood latch needed to be lubed.
Why is the hood release on my Hyundai not working?
Currently I’m running low on oil and can’t open the hood. I don’t want such an easy task ruining my car. When I pull on the release nothing happens. I can even go under and try to pull the wire a bit. This is leading me to believe that it’s broken or super worn out. Either way, I can’t open the hood.
