How do you open the gas cap on a Jaguar XF?
Operate as follows:
- Press and release the rear of the fuel filler flap to unlatch.
- Pull the flap open. The label on the inside of the flap indicates the correct fuel for the vehicle.
- Turn the filler cap counter-clockwise to undo.
- Use the fuel cap storage feature to keep the filler cap out of the way while fuelling.
Why does my gas filler flap not open?
An out-of-round nozzle could be the problem You should have a very small plastic gas funnel, usually stored with the spare tire, that can be inserted and will open the metal flap. It’s meant to be used with portable gas cans as the nozzles that come with them will not fit the fuel filler either.
What to do if your VW fuel flap is not opening?
Cheap and effective. i am surprised VW dun allow a manual over ride to open the fuel flap. at least some form of fail safe to open, if not no petrol how? call tow truck meh Put on white gloves . . . If in such a case, try opening and closing with the remote several times while de-pressing the flap to open, it happened to mine as well.
Why is the gas nozzle not opening on my Jeep?
Take a drive and 10 minutes later, the emissions systems purge the charcoal canister and the pressure it down, and the flapper valve can open. There are three spots inside the filler that have to all be depressed at the same time or the metal flap will not open and the nozzle will not go in.
What to do when fuel filler won’t open?
Click to expand… If you keep pressing the flap in the ideal spot, about 1/3 from the back edge, it will eventually open. At least mine always did. The factory fix was no good either as the flap still fails to open occasionally even after the revised parts are fitted.

Where was the flap on my Jaguar XF stuck?
I stopped at a petrol station in Weedon Bec (on the A5, Northants) yesterday and was approached by another xf driver who couldn’t get the flap that covers the fuel-filler cap open. He’d called Jaguar Assistance but asked me if I’d come across the problem before.
