Why is the hatch on my Nissan Versa not opening?
I can confirm that the front passenger door lock actuator is the culprit of the hatch not opening. The repair is not difficult at all. Took me half an hour. However, the hatch will only open if the passenger door is open for some reason. It is not tied into the latch.

If you can get inside the drivers door or have somebody do it for you, there may be a bad connection on your wiring harness to the door lock actuator. What’s the actuator number on a Nissan Versa?
I ordered that actuator from NissanPartsZone.com, and everything worked again once I replaced it. The part is 80-500-EL01B. It took me about an hour and a half to do. You’ll need to use the service manual, which can be found at this link. The information you’ll need to help you replace the actuator starts on BL-166.
