Removed the rider foot rests and lightly loosened the two bracket bolts that hold the swingarm isolators on each side. Lifted the tank and removed one bolt from the top heim mount and removed one bolt from the lower heim mount at the front of the engine.
What kind of vibration does an Indy bike have?
After changing it, the bike developed a terrible vibration between 1500 to 2500 RPM’s. Shook so bad it started breaking faring mounts. Took it to several shops, both HD and indy guy and none of them could figure it out. They did get it so the vibration only bad between 1300 to 2000 RPM’s, but still unbearable.
When does vibration go away on a V-twin?
When everything was loose, I started the bike and let it idle for about half a minute and then ran it up to about 4500 RPM’s for another 15 seconds or so and then let it idle for about another minute. Then revved it up and down and vibration gone!
