How do you adjust the air fuel mixture?
On a modern-day vehicle, air-fuel mixture adjustment is controlled by the computer of the vehicle. Use a scanner to get an air-fuel mixture reading, and you can also use a five-gas analyzer, which is used in emission testing.
How to download a Honda Motorcycle Service Manual?

When to stop turning the air fuel mixture screw?
Listen to the engine’s idle sound and stop turning the screw when it starts making a rough rising and falling sound instead of its normal idling sound. Tightening the screw weakens the air and fuel mixture and decreases the amount of fuel flowing to the engine.
How does an air blend door actuator work?
An air blend door actuator is constructed from a plastic housing, a small electric motor and a plastic gear set. A door position sensor is also incorporate into the unit to send feed back information to the climate control computer.
How to check and replace an oxygen sensor ( air )?
A P1155 or P1135 code indicates you have a bad sensor. This is common in Toyota and Lexus cars and trucks. Learn how to test the air fuel ratio sensor to see if it is bad, and then learn how to replace the bad sensor. Nice O2 Sensor Socket Kit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005…
How do you know when to replace a fuel injector?
Another effective test is to measure the pressure loss in the fuel rail when each injector is fired and pulses for a set period of time. Use an electronic injector pulse tester for this. As each injector is energized, a fuel pressure gauge is observed to monitor the drop in fuel pressure.
How do you remove an air fuel sensor?
Use your breaker bar and the air fuel ratio sensor socket and remove the sensor from the exhaust pipe. Some air fuel ratio sensors may get stuck onto the exhaust pipe and make it almost impossible to remove. At this time, you would need to have a small portable torch handy.

How can I tell if I need a new fuel pump?
Until enough fuel gets to it, you may have to hold the ignition on for longer than normal, or you may have to try more than once to get the engine to start. Engine Sputters or Stalls: If the engine is being starved for fuel, it can sputter, cough, and occasionally stall. A lack of fuel can cause the engine to misfire.
How to adjust rich / lean on my Honda 250 Fourtrax?
Carb seems to be working very well. Hey guys, I need some help here, i need to figure out how to make a carburetor fuel/air adjustment for a 1986 Honda 250 trx, because that is the only way I think it will run. If any of you guys know what to do, please help me out.
Why does my Honda 250 have a rich smell?
For anyone reading this old thread; Come to find out after running the atv that it was burning oil bad. Then got less and less. Success, It took 2-3 months of oil burning which was the source of my rich smell and smoke at exhaust, but then it quit. Since it sat for 3 years unused I figure the rings clogged up a little.

What should my a / f ratio be for air fuel?
Air Fuel Tuning (A/F Tuning) Programming ECU settings for a optimul A/F Ratio. * Your target AFR should be around 14.7:1 in vacuum, around 12.5:1 at static, and around 11.5-11.0:1 as you approach your peak boost level.
How does the ECU know how much gasoline to inject?
In order to know how much gasoline it needs to inject, it needs to know how much air is coming in, and what the target air to fuel ratio (A/F ratio) is at that point in time. This is the job of the air metering devices, and some of the code in the ECU, which interprets the information from these devices.
How can I Check my air and fuel mixture?
The air/fuel mixture can be analyzed by looking at O2 Sensor data from your ECU. Another way to monitor your air/fuel mixture is with an Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge. Many AFR gauges also display lambda value.
When to make an air fuel mixture adjustment?
Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature by letting it idle for about 5 minutes. Keep the engine running after it warms up. Always make air fuel mixture screw adjustments with a warm engine and the engine running, so you can listen to how the adjustments affect the engine’s idle speed.
How is ignition timing related to air fuel ratio?
Control of the air-fuel ratio and the ignition timing is the basic element in optimizing engine performance. The air-fuel ratio is given by the ratio, in terms of weight, of air and gasoline drawn in by the engine. The ideal or stoichiometric ratio is that which produces total combustion.
Why do you need air and fuel in an engine?
An engine needs air, fuel, and Spark to make power. To optimize your engine’s performance, you need the right mixture of air and fuel. Air/Fuel Ratio (AFR) AFR stands for air to fuel ratio. Fuel doesn’t burn on its own. It has to be mixed with air. AFR tells you how many parts of air are mixed with each part of fuel.
