Can you drink alcohol on ScotRail trains?
No alcohol can be drunk at any station in Scotland or on board any ScotRail train at any time of day. You cannot carry visible alcohol – open or unopened. Alcohol can be carried in a bag where it cannot be seen. You will not be able to use our services if you are deemed unfit to do so.
What are ScotRail off peak times?
ScotRail’s Off-Peak tickets are valid for travel any time at the weekend, on weekday off-peak trains between 09:15 – 16:40, and after 18:15 Monday to Friday. Plan your journey online to check off-peak departure and return times on the day and route you’re travelling.

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) confirmed that a strike will go ahead in the first two weeks of November after it refused a pay offer from ScotRail on Friday. There will be a strike from midnight on Monday 1 November 2021 until 11.59pm on Friday 12 November 2021.
