Do you need to change transmission fluid on 2012 Lexus ES 350?
Service guide for 2012 ES 350 Lexus says not change of transmission fluid is required for life of car. Is this true? If not, when should you change? Car has 66,000 miles. “Lifetime” is ambiguous.
How many miles on a Lexus ES 350?
You have selected 0 posts. My Lexus ES 350 has about 120000 miles on it. I took it in to a private mechanic to get the 120K service. He gave a quote and then recommended that I have him change/flush the transmission fluid. I thought the tranny was sealed. He said that it is “sealed” and the fluid is “lifetime” but lifetime to him means 100K.
When to change filter on Lexus ES 350?
The reason I say replace filter last is to have old filter trap most of suspended clutch material etc, from old fluid, then replace filter with new fluid. You can even change filter again after a few hundred miles and add proper fluid level back for added protection. These methods will provide the best insurance against transmission failure.
Why do I have problems shifting my Lexus ES 350?
Seems you’re already having tranny problems with shifting, likely due to the lack of maintenance on it and dirty fluid. If you want to keep it longer, get the trans serviced – flush, new filter and fluid, computer diagnostics, clean/replace solenoids as needed.
