Do Mevotech ball joints come pre greased?
Mevotech parts come pre-greased right out of the box.
Are Greasable ball joints better?
Non greaseable joints are sealed better than greaseable joints. They are designed keep the grease in and the dirt and water out. When that happens, the only thing you can do is to replace the joint. A greaseable joint on the other hand is something that you have to grease but you also get to grease.
How does a mevotech boot lock in place?
Boot is mechanically locked in place by the housing lamination preventing contaminants from entering the boot. Corrosion resistant coatings that prevent the formation of rust for a longer part service life. Secure the ball joint with the circlip included to provide supplementary retention for the ball joint housing, locking it into place.
What makes a mevotech ball joint so good?
Mevotech innovates every ball joint component. Our engineers focus on improving part life and ease of installation, employing punishing durability testing to validate every new design. For maximum service life and durability we engineer X-Factor upgrades to keep your vehicle performing longer.
Where are ball joints located on a car?
Load-bearing ball joints are subject to continual stress and should be inspected frequently to ensure optimal performance. Depending on suspension configuration (Multi-Link, MacPherson, Double Wishbone, Solid Axle), ball joints may be located on front upper and/or lower control arms, as well as steering knuckles.
How are ball joints replaced in control arms?
Many OEM ball joints come riveted onto the vehicle, and as they wear they are replaced with an aftermarket bolt-on design. This design completely integrates the ball joint pivot into the control arm assembly, replacing the individual ball joint and forming one solid container arm. OEM aluminum control arms are often unitized.
