How do you start a Honda CRV EXL?
Press the Fob lock button; turn signal lights & lights on the outside mirror housing on the CRV will flash. Then press the Fob button with the circular arrow on it; the CRV lights will flash again & the engine should start. (On my 2017 I have to hold the start button for a second or so. If I just quickly press it and let go it won’t start.)
Why does remote start on Honda CRV not work?
Press lock twice then press and hold engine start till the lights triple flash on the CRV. You can start the engine twice for 10 mins each time then it will not work again till you jump in the car and start it from the button on dash. It does not work if one of the FOBs is left inside the car. I just picked up a 2019 Honda CRV EXL today.

Can you replace the battery in a Honda CRV?
Replacing the too-small Group 51R battery with a larger one is a fairly common fix, and can resolve battery issues as well as give longer starter life due to better cranking amps. See this thread: This can be done with any year model CR-V, using Honda battery case parts from the 2014 Odyssey. Info is included in the thread along with part numbers.
What causes a Honda CRV starter to burn out?
Click to expand… Its not the fob. Happens with 2 different sets of keys and the starter solenoid is burned out. Usually that is from over cranking, low voltage or a bad battery connection or cable connection to ground. Chances are it is a weak/ defective battery.
When to use trickle charger on Honda CRV?
Since I replaced my battery (it failed just before the 3yr warranty expired) in August 2019, I keep a trickle smart charger connected to the battery when the car is not being used. The charger has a pulse feature that dissolves accumulated sulfates on the lead plates thus extending electrical service life.
