Can a blower motor run when the car is off?
I searched the forum, followed the advice of others and replaced the motor control attached to the side of the blower, pulled the blower itself and cleaned the brushes (they we not too warn, so I didn’t replace) but the problem continues.
What causes the a / C blower to run uncontrolled?
Mostly (according to this forum) a failed BR causes the a/c blower to run uncontrolled. Btw your WIS a/c circuit diagram is not identical to mine for W208. However the blower motor/regulator part is the same. Still the Regulator?
Why is my blower motor resistor not working?
The blower motor resistor controls the speed of the blower motor indirectly by relaying electrical current to the blower motor control module. If the resistor isn’t working properly, then you’ll experience concerning and inconvenient symptoms in your BMW’s cabin.
How long does a Mercedes Benz blower fan run?
Pressed the switch again, the blower fan stopped again for a few seconds, then resumed the lower speed. The owner’s manual notes the fan may run for up to 30 minutes in warmer temperatures. Left it for an hour – still running at the low speed.
What happens when the blower motor does not come on?
As a note, 85 percent of the time when the blower motor does not come on or operates at one speed only, the blower motor resister is at fault. The resister emits substantial heat from the resistance it supplies and eventually burns up. The resister is inexpensive as parts go and is simple to replace.

How to test a Mercedes Benz fan blower motor regulator?
This is the blower motor resister, which controls the fan speeds. Disconnect the multi-wire connector from the blower motor resister next to the blower motor. Start the car and turn the air conditioning on. Test the connector for power at the terminals in the connector using the voltmeter. If there is power, reinstall the connector to the resister.
What should I do if my blower motor resistor keeps failing?
Purchase an upgraded pigtail and splice it into the harness along with a new blower motor resistor. Conduct an amperage draw test at the same time to rule out excessive current draw from the blower motor. Car makers design their HVAC systems to reduce the possibility of debris getting into the system. But they’re not always successful.
How long does a car heater blower stay on?
The blower is supposed to stay on for a few minutes after the car is off. Look in your owners manual. I think it’s primarily for cold weather, it keeps the car interior warm until the heater core completely cools down. Not to say you don’t still have a problem separate from that.
Why is my heat not working in my car?
One of the most common problems with an automotive climate control system is a lack of blower pressure or no blower at all. That means a trickle out of your vents instead of the rush you asked for. When it does happen, you’re left with a miserably underpowered heat or AC system.
How does a Mercedes Benz blower motor work?
That is the design. The blower motor (A32m1) is powered from circuit 30, which is the unswitched battery voltage, via fuse f25 (30A). I second the above posts.
What to do if car heater is not working?
Check the heater core temperature. Lift the hood and check the temperature around where the heater core hoses enter the heater core box. The safest way to do this is with a non-contact infrared thermometer. If one hose is the same temperature as the coolant and the other hose is cold, there may be a blockage in the heater core.
What can cause a car heater to not work?
– Low coolant – A blockage in the heater core – A stuck blend door – A stuck heater valve – A bad switch or linkage
Why does my car heater not work?
- why would low coolant cause my car heater to not work?
- Plugged Heater Core.
- Blower Fan Not Spinning.
- Faulty Water Pump.
- Coolant Leaks.
- Faulty Thermostat.
- Plugged Coolant Hose.
What would cause my heater not to work?
CAUSE: Another cause of electric heater not working could be an issue with the electric cord. An electric cord can go faulty and may stop working which in turn effects the working of the heater.
