Are gel Fireplaces any good?
A gel fuel fireplace burning three cans of fuel can raise the temperature in a small room about 10 F. An outdoor gel fuel fireplace or fire pit can provide some warmth for those seated close to the unit, but the overall heat benefit is much smaller than that of a wood-burning appliance.
How long does fire gel last?
Depending on weather conditions such as sunlight, wind and humidity, Barricade can be expected to last from a minimum of 6-8 hours to a maximum of 24-36 hours. The thicker you apply the gel the longer it will last.

How long will Sterno last?
One can of 7oz Sterno should last about 2½ hours. One can of 3oz Sterno should last about 1 hour. 1. Block the wind from blowing out the burners on an outside chafing dish by covering three of the sides surrounding flames with a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil.
Is Sterno safe to use?

Is fire gel toxic?
Real flame is fire. The gel is non-toxic to burn but the flame is hot. Treat it as you would treat fire in a real fireplace. The product is isopropyl alcohol so it isn’t toxic.
