Why is the hood of my Jeep ajar?
Grease could short the switch, the switch could be out of adjustment, the wire may have come disconnected, the wire might be broken. Before you take it to a dealer, that will clearly be the most expensive option for repair, you might want to look at yourself, try to clean it up and see if you can spot anything wrong with the switch.

I have a 2013 JGC and am now having the same problem. I was wondering if anyone got their’s working again if so did you have to replace the sensor or clean it.

Problem solved and just make sure you hood is closed completely from now on. Click to expand… 2014 SE 5-door…had to replace the switch two years ago at the dealer (close to $300), and now 2 yrs later, it went bad again. Fortunately I saw Jamie’s post and just put a jumper on it this time…what a PITA!
