Why is the electric shift not working on my Honda Foreman?
The Gear selector indicator flashes 5 times and that indicates a ECM motor driver circuit. The 4 wheel drive selector also has stoped working. I have put power direct to the electric shift motor but it appears dead. My next trick is to remove it and put power to it again. Assuming that it is faulty, I would prefer to fix it – brushes or whatever.

Why does my Honda rancher not shift into reverse?
Half way through our 3 day trip it stopped going into reverse. Came home cleaned and rinsed the sensor near the rear of the motor and it began to work again. Now two weeks later it stopped working again completely. It will shift up and down through 1st – 5th gear with no problem, but not reverse.

What to do if your Honda TRX 450 es shift is not working?
Start with checking the angle sensor since it’s the most common problem. The computer tells the display when it’s in 2/3/4 gear so if it detected a problem with the ES system it will display the –.
What’s the fuse on a Honda shift motor?
The battery is new, I checked all the fuses BTW the wiring diagram calls for a 15A fuse going to the shift motor, but the white fuse box in the battery tray calls for 30A …. not sure what’s up there.

How to fix an electronic shift ( es ) problem?
Hi: You don’t take the shift motor apart — you remove the cover where the shift motor went into and clean out the old grease — put white lithium grease on them gears — also if you removed the spindle gear it has to aligned with the shift shaft. So after what seemed a lifetime, I got my new shift motor. $80 lesson learned.

Mine started the same thing on January 15th. It will stop flashing from time to time and shift out as usual. For that reason I was assuming it was a sensor or oil pressure/level problem. I have not looked at it as of yet.

Is the Honda rancher trx350fe shifting problems?
The problem has progressively gotten worse where now you can only ride for a minute or two until it stops shifting. Of course, turning off the key while your in 3rd or 4th gear requires you to then rock the quad while pressing the downshift button to get it back down to neutral so you can start it again.
