Why is my left side steering wheel not working?
Usually when a clockspring fails the airbag light comes on and nothing on your steering wheel works. All of the electric for anything on the steering wheel is routed through the clockspring. I think you’re on the right track, I suspect you have a loose/broken connection between the controls and the radio. Jarhead, thanks for your response.
What are the buttons on the side of the steering wheel?
For the audio/phone, there are three circuits which Nissan calls the signal A, signal B and signal ground. Each button has a different resistor value which results in a different voltage signal, so the buttons can be distinguished. A covers three buttons : seek up, seek down and end.
How does the steering wheel work on a Nissan?

Where does the radio control go on a steering wheel?
The wires that control the radio from the steering go to the Body Control Module (BCM), not directly to the radio. The BCM sends data over the serial bus to the radio. You can’t post conmments that contain an email address. If this is the lights for the switches in the steering wheel, these are LED’s.

Are there any steering wheel controls that don’t work?
Thought I was going crazy. Horn, radio controls on both sides, instrument cluster buttons, heated steering wheel and voice control don’t work. Oddly enough the cruise controls still work. I’ve brought it to the dealer (should have come here first).
