Why is my engine not revving at 2800 rpm?
The first thing to check is the fuel supply. If that doesn’t resolve, you’ve got to start investigating. I had a similar problem last year and it turned out it was water leaking into the engine from the exhaust manifold to riser flange connection (bad gasket). That resulted in cracked heads.
Why does my 98 Wolverine 350 not rev up?
As long as I keep the PB bracket forward, it runs great. New as well here , not new to service work . 98 wolverine 350 , backfires above idle , will not rev . Read about the park brake ,should have 2 wire on off eletrical switch.

Well, as unbelievable as it may seem, after having the car (’82 GT with a 4bbl Holley) for almost a month, I just revved the engine above 2500RPM today.
