Why does my Traxter 500 not shift out of first?
It won’t shift out of first in high or low range. The dash indicater lights up when it’s in park, reverse. And neutral. But nothing when in hi or low. Drives and runs perfectly. Except no shifting lol, and the key won’t turn it off. Only the stop button.

Open the Fuse box. All the fuses are good but second from the back… The Fuse plastic is broke allowing it to lose connection. But with covid. I can’t go buy more easily. So I get this Fuse to connect. I get power and right away. With the key off.
How do you shift the piston on a Traxter?
Pull off the shift piston cover (part #25) and use the relief hole and the tip of a screw driver to rotate the piston to the appropriate bottom/6 o’clock position – gentle taps with a rubber hammer to encourage rotating to the correct position may be needed).

Why does my Traxter have a shifting problem?
Note: this may not be the case with all Traxter’s shifting problems but if you have recently replaced the sprag gear/clutch (part 41/42) in the ignition assembly this MAY be your issue.
