Why does my Speedo and hot light keep flashing?
If you unplug the cooling fan this will happen, so if there’s something wrong with it it will let know you buy flashing the speedo & hot light. The fan should come on as soon as the lights on but since its not it would point to the fan itself (or circuit). Could be other things but from what you describe it may be the fan.
Why does my Polaris ATV keep flashing Hot?
So far, I replaced the all the gaskets in the top end of engine, the thermostat is removed, Brand New ECM, and tested the temp sensor (seems to be fine but don’t know what proper reading should be). The Rad is full of new fluid and burped. The rad is free of mud and debris ( and power tested it with leads from battery and works).

I HAVE A 2004 SPORTSMAN 400 4X4. AS SOON AS WE TURN IT ON WITHIN 15 SECONDS OR SO THE “ENGINE HOT” LIGHT STARTS FLASHING ON THE SCREEN. WE HAVE CHANGED THE THERMO SENSOR THINKING MAYBE THAT WAS BAD BUT ITS NOT. IT IS STILL FLASHING THAT WARNING SIGN WIHIN A FEW SECONDS OF STARTING IT UP.
Where is the battery light on a sportsman?
My machine (2010 Sportsman 500ho) it was located right below the headlight pod. There is a little panel that pops out. Some of the older models, I have read it is located on the frame near the radiator. Cost was about $75.00.

Readings were taken at idle but the issue happens even when when buzzing along at 30mph plus. It slowly works the battery down. So, either it is not charging enough (reg or mag)to replace volts being used or the battery, although only 6 months old has a bad cell.

Also make your atv is putting out the volts. M 08 did the same thing and it was the voltage rectifier The mystery is solved for my flashing hot instrument panel. It was the ecm but when I put in the new one, I must have knocked one of the pin connectors loose in the plug. It was causing the light to flash as the fan was not getting power I guess.

How to reset the service wrench on a Polaris Sportsman?
Select the service interval function by holding the “Mode/Reverse Override” button for three seconds until the service wrench icon begins to flash. Set the next service interval by holding the “Mode/Reverse Override” button to advance the next service interval in one-hour increments.
