Why does my Pontiac G6 have a p0010 trouble code?
If your G6 has the P0010 trouble code it will typically not pass the State emissions tests. The Pontiac G6 utilizes camshaft actuators to change the valve lift depending on the RPM of the motor. This allows for a more efficient cam profile at any speed. This increases engine efficiency and power.
What does the Diagnostic Code p0010 mean on a crankshaft?
This code is actually a generic one. When the diagnostic code P0010 is returned, it shows that a potential problem was discovered with the ECM picking up a gap between the mechanical parts of the camshaft (bank 1) and the crankshaft. This type of error is usually detected at a higher speed.

What causes a code p0010 on an ECM?
Common causes of code P0010 include: Damaged, or malfunctioning ECM. Defective, or malfunctioning oil flow control valve control solenoid. Breaks in wiring causing loss of continuity, or intermittent loss of continuity.
When did p0013 come up on my car?
I had P0013 (Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit) come up after finishing a 5 hour drive about a year ago. Basically I cleared the code, drove back to Toronto with no problems. Code hasnt come back and I’ve put about 10,000km more on it.
How to fix engine code p0010 on 2.4L?
Just remove the hold-down bolts & pull up on the actuators. Put engine oil on the new o-rings & don’t over-torque the hold-down bolts (torque spec is only 7 ft-lbs). The actuators are keyed differently (& have different part numbers) so you can’t interchange them.
What are the actuators on a Pontiac G6?
The Pontiac G6 utilizes camshaft actuators to change the valve lift depending on the RPM of the motor. This allows for a more efficient cam profile at any speed. This increases engine efficiency and power. Camshaft Position Actuators change the lift of the camshaft up to 25 degrees.
