Why does my Nissan Qashqai make a Whinning noise?

My Nissan Qashqai 1.5 D… My Nissan Qashqai 1.5 D turbo is making a whinning noise on acceleration and under load it’s the first turbo disel I have owned is it normal for it to make this noise? Submitted:8 years ago.

Hello and welcome! Today in our garage we having Nissan Qashqai with 1.5 diesel engine from 2009 with suspected turbo failure. We did full inspection firstly to find out where the problem is. We had situations in the past where vehicle has symptoms very similar for turbocharger failure, but turbo was in perfect condition!

You are burning engine oil, this could be from bad intake valve seals ,bad turbo seals this you can see if you remove the tube from the turbo and see oil on the back part of the blades . If you have oil in the tube on the front side of the turbo (cold side) then you may have a bad engine crank breather ,blocked up with carbon deposits .

Why is my Nissan Qashqai dCi turbo not running?

PS those nissans will boost away as hard as they can up to the point where the dpf is so blocked the won’t run, the stress this puts on the turbo is crazy. The terra clean prob put a lot of ***** through the turbo with the “cleaning” which wouldn’t have helped.
