Why does my Mercedes SLK have water in the boot?
Do you have the R170 earlier or R171 current model SLK as 2004 was the switchover year? This is generally a problem with either a damaged seal or the drain holes are blocked which are plastic ovals near the rear of the lid on either side. The drains come out in the wheel wells underneath.

Why is my Mercedes slk200 roof not working?
Open boot lid and you will see a plastic panel which covers the inner locking assembly. The panel is held in place by three plastic rivets. The panel also has two plastic tags left and right which slot inside the metal bodywork to left and right and there is a locator lug on the rear of the plastic panel.

Right, after abit more digging around I’ve found two things.. 2) Water at the front – took off the fuse box cover and it’s soaked. The a/c pipe underneath the glove compartment is connected and dry. It sounds like you may have clogged drain holes from possibly more than one area. The AC drain hole and the sunroof drain.

You can blow down the drains with compressed air if you have access to a compressor, or the plastic grille covers unclip & you can run some flexible tubing down to ensure they are clear. Pour water in to make sure the water drains away freely.

I then fed this through to the bit of piping attached to the firewall/inside fender to complete the loop. Poured water down the new plastic piping at the top and it ran all the way through to the drain hole underneath the body, near the jacking points.

Where is the central locking pump in a car boot?
Moisture in the boot certainly can cause alarm & light problems. The central locking pump is located on the right hand side next to the spare wheel – remove the wheel & the shaped insert for the jack next to it on the right & you will see a foam housing – pull this out a little & the pump sits inside the foam housing.
