What’s the problem with the fuel light blinking?
Hello, I have a same problem on my 2002 Ml500, the fuel light starts blinking but I definately have a full tank and I chagned the fuel cap. Everytime I turned on the engine and run for 10 to 15 miles, then fuel light starts Blinking. I turned the enginee off the fuel Blinking gone. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks.
Why does the gas cap check engine light come on?
It maintains pressure in the engine and prevents fuel vapors from leaking out. In some cases, the gas cap check engine light will come on when the fuel cap has not been tightly secured. We suggest that you unscrew the gas cap and re-tighten until it clicks, then allow the gas cap check engine light up to a day to reset.

Why does my check engine light light up?
If you’re loosing pressure from gas cap leak the check engine will light up not the low fuel light. Somebody has mentioned about the fuel sensor/sender (?) going bad. I wonder if this is part of the fuel pump/ filter. were any warning signs like this?
