Why does my Jeep Compass say stop/start not ready battery charging?
The message is advisory, not a warning of something wrong. The batteries charge state is accessed and if there is not enough charge the ESS is turned off to allow the battery’s to charge up. Cause while you use the ESS it drains the battery’s while the engine is off.

The dealer replaced the secondary battery saying it was shot. Jeep has 21k on it and is just under 2 years old. I hate the Stop/Start feature but it’s well documented that when the secondary battery is really dead it causes all sorts of electrical issues.
Is the start / stop function on my new jeep working?
I installed the new battery this past week and everything seems to be working fine, except for the Start/Stop function – on the info screen, it does indicate “Stop/Start not available Battery charging”. The battery is brand new (date code indicates a manufacture code of Aug 2018), and the voltage on the display does indicate +14V.

Why does my Jeep say start / stop unavailable?
Start/Stop unavailable message appeared on Wednesday with no sign of any other trouble, and went away once I turned it off and back on. Did not come back on until Saturday, but this time the red battery light came on next to the “A” with the circle around it.
