Why does my car shake when I cold start it?
Car shakes noticeably on cold start every morning with hesitation in engine revs. Give it about 1-2mins, it settles and becomes fine (with slight vibration still felt when stationary). Read in another forum this could be due to the engine mounts / incorrect signals being sent to the ECU.

For vaccum hoses try pulling/ swing them while the egnine is running, if there is any loose joints , you will notice the engine rpm wil drop momentarily. For the cables , it’ s very easy, while the engine is running you can spray fine mist of water on the cables, any leak or minor short, the engine rpm will drop and maybe dies off.

When it’s cold out, usually when I first start the car in the mornings, it’s very hard to turn the steering wheel. It feels stiff and tight, as if I didn’t have power steering anymore. But after the car warms up, steering is normal again.
