Why does my AC only blow out defrost?

Yea the problem with them astro’s is the way the damn motor is crammed into the dog house with the heat it destroys the hard plastic vacume line . I have had 5 of them and every one had this problem until you change them out with rubber lines .
Why does AC stop blowing out the defrost vents?
After installing a new blower fan motor the ac would only come out the defrost vents. The factory vacuum check valve is very hard to get to. So i bypassed it. Now it is working like it should and ac comes out the dash vents. I do not have a vacuum reservoir installed i will have to see if i will need to add it later.

Why is my HVAC vent selector not working?
I have an ’02 TJ X and am having trouble with my HVAC vent selector. It will not switch into upper vent mode, only have the option to have it all on my feet, or feet and windshield. I searched but didnt find any real solutions. Help?
