Why do I get long flashes on my EFI 580?
If you do not see any flash the problem may be a low battery, a malfunctioning ignition switch or emergency shut off switch, throttle monitor switch (or thether switch), blown 3 amp fuse, or a faulty wiring harness. If codes are present on the LED, the first will always be a long flash, followed by a series of flashes.

Greetings all. Can anyone educate me on the self diagnostics for ECU on a ’95 580 EFI Pantera? As I under stand it, the little “eye” on the ECU will flash in different sequences indicating different problems. Also, does anyone have any experience with getting these ECU’s wet?

There is no motor damage, but I have been told the ECU will be junk because the key was on when it fell through the ice. It was under water for about 2 hours with the key on. All help is appreciated. Ken. I don’t recall the codes, if no one gets them to you I have them at home.

Why is my EFI not working on my snowmobile?
It also says the entire EFI system depends on a properly charged battery for operation. Once battery voltage falls below 9 volts the ECU will not function. In the past when I had similar syptoms I charged the battery. So far charging the battery hasn’t worked.
