Why are the brakes on my Jeep Wrangler not working?
There are notches in your Wrangler’s brake pads that let them slide back and forth from the rotor as the brakes are pressed. If something gets into these slides, the pads may not disengage from the rotor all the way. This problem is often caused by bad shims or junk getting in the way.

And thanks for the education! all 4 wheel disk brakes have the emergency brake inside the rear rotor ( that i am aware of) . they are wee little pads , not like the old drum brake pads that were 7″ or so long . these are only , maybe 3 ” long and 1.5 -2″ wide . I will post a pic if I can find one.

being its only the rear wheels , The front doesn’t have the parking brake on them . That is what I would have thought, but it releases the rear brakes and you can creep forward about 20 – 30 yards and then calliper activates and locks up the rear wheel.
