Why are recessed can lights turn on and off?
We have an existing recessed light that was installed by the builder which is located near the shower. A flat toggle switch operates the lamp. My wife swears the light just comes on by itself and then off. I told her to firmly switch the lamp off when using it. She thinks I am the problem for not fixing a problem.
Why does my LED light flicker when the switch is off?
No problem as long as the load is much higher than the neon needs, but can cause a CFL or LED to flicker or light dimly. It definitely gets power from somewhere. Very little power, but still. I would bet you have some kind of leakage either on the switch, or between one of the wires and grounding (or other wire that may be routed nearby).

However, the light the Kasa is connected to doesn’t come on. I pulled the Kasa and put the mechanical switch back in and the light works as it should.
