Why are my GMC Terrain windshield wipers not working?
Rockauto lists two parts, AC Delco and General motors, two different numbers and GM part is out of stock. On some 2010-2012, and 2014-2017 model year Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles, a link ball socket in the wiper transmissionmay separate. If this were to occur, the driver would experience a sudden loss of wiper function.

First time in my life I had a wiper problem, other than just replacing the blades. But if *both* wipers are not moving, it’s either the motor or something common in the linkage to the motor that’s loose, stripped, or broken. You should be able to tell by just looking at it while it’s running.

On Sunday the wipers stopped working, but I can still hear the motor for the wipers going. Thoughts? Sounds like something’s stripped. I had *one* wiper quit on my 2002 Impala a couple of years ago (after almost 200,000 miles).

November 6, 2018 — A General Motors windshield wiper recall is under federal investigation after complaints poured in from GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox drivers about wipers that stopped working.
