Where is the transmission dipstick on a 2000 Subaru Outback?
Dipstick should be there on the drivers side of the transmission (for US or left hand drive) just in front of the fire wall. It will have a yellow loop on top so as you can pull it up with your finger. You must check the transmission oil when the car is up to temperature AND WHILST THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.

Why is the oil temp light flashing on my Tribeca?
There is one on each side of the engine towards the front. These wires corrode over time and break, causing the electronic systems to freak out.
