Where is the light for gear shift and steering wheel?
Light for gear shift and steering wheel not working. have the same problem? First, Have you checked all the fuses? I have attached a tutorial and a picture of your Fuse Box location. It is located under the steering column. Fuse location #5 is for the floor shifter. Fuse #9 and 10 are for panel illumination that should include the steering wheel.

Why is my gear shift light not working?
When on the driver side contact of fuse 10 it lights up fully. On the passenger side contact it gives a dim glow. (What does this mean?) I tried it on fuses 5 and 9 to see what it looks like on a fuse location that appears to be working properly.
Where is the backlight on my shifter light?
At the top of image 5, you will see the Smart Junction Box or Cabin Fuse Box. The first wire coming out of it reading from left to right is the Violet/gray wire. Everything branching off from it is missing its backlighting.

Why is the shifter light not working on my car?
For both, the tester lit up fully when touching the driverside contact but did not give any light when touching the passenger side contact. Also, if you look at images 5 and 6 from the second reply (the instrument panel illumination circuit diagram), you can see all the areas that are missing backlighting and where they connect.
