The gear selector is actually manual. Underneath the selector (in one of the photos I posted) you’ll see a metal rod with a bluish bushing. That rod connects to a bar underneath your car that actually switches the gears.

You don’t need to dismantle the gear selector from inside the car, to replace the bushings. To remove the clip that holds the bar in the bushing, all you need is a flat head screwdriver and a needle-nose plier. That’s the right type of bushing.
