Where is the coolant temp sensor on a Jaguar XF?
The coolant temp sensor is located on the thermostat housing in the front of the engine under the throttle. I would first make sure the engine cooling fan is working properly either after the engine has been running or when the a/c is on.

Once the coolant level has dropped, it is also possible that the captive float which actuates the low level sensor may stick in the down position, leaving a warning on even after the cooling system has been refilled.
